Expenses

We made this stage of the trip in 26 days and our expenses were 6,88€ per person and day thus broken down:

  • Food: 3,90€
  • Transport: 2,39€
  • Activities / Tickets: 0,34€
  • Various: 0,25€
  • accommodation: We did not spend anything on accommodation since they either invited us to hostels / hotels or did couchsurfing.

The best

  • Meet Anita and her family and feel firsthand the Indian hospitality: they opened the doors of her house and treated us like two more of the family ... a life lesson!
  • Hampi: without a doubt one of the stops that we advise on a trip to India, the temples are fabulous but it is the places that will leave you breathless.
  • Sleep a few steps from Palolem beach and spend a few days between fish, sand, waves and cows on the shore!
  • Spend a few days in Gokarna: the perfect mix of tradition and relaxation.
  • Discover the British Mumbai, full of history and interesting corners.
  • Lety have tried a sari, my mother how complicated is haha luck that Anita helped her!
  • The caves of Ajanta: it is amazing to see how from the rock they made such sublime caves and sculptures.
  • The gulab jamun, and they are already an obsession for us, that rich!
  • We are not very museums, art galleries and historic buildings ... but the Mysore palace left us speechless.
  • Do couchsurfing in Mumbai and meet Harry, a very kind and generous boy from the north!

Worst

  • Arrive in Hampi at 5 in the morning, two hours ahead of schedule, dead of sleep and unable to go to any gh since they were all closed!
  • The night buses that go at full speed, catch all the holes in the roads and beep constantly ... without a doubt we are more of a train!
  • The poverty of Mumbai.
  • That Harry, our host in Mumbai, order food at home and soon raw vegetables arrive? And we who were waiting for a pizza, a hamburger or a kebab !! Haha
  • The continuous photo sessions in Hampi, we even took photos secretly (well, especially Lety!). A little is fun but there comes a time that you begin to understand why celebrities hate paparazzi!
  • The prices of buses multiplied by 2 being Christmas time!
