Day 1: Lloret de Mar - Barcelona Airport (Travel to Shanghai)

Today begins what will be one of the trips we most wanted to do and with which, probably, we have dreamed most: the trip to Tibet in 19 days, which we will start in a few hours with a trip to Shanghai, city that will be the gateway for this trip.
The initial idea was to leave mid-morning at home since our flight to Shanghai is at 5:35 p.m., but counting that today we are in full operation departure from Holy Week and that yesterday at the last minute, when we just made the backpacks, we saw that taking a couple of books considerably increased the weight behind us, has made us consider buying an e-book that also serves us for future trips and thus avoid carrying several paper books on each of the trips we make during the year .
So with that idea in mind we have changed the plans a bit, deciding to leave at mid-morning, after breakfast, to make a Technical stop in Barcelona before we go to the Prat airport, where the trip to Shanghai.

And said and done, after a trip by car to Barcelona, much quieter than we expected in terms of traffic, the stop to buy an Ipad mini, which in the end we have taken fully configured and ready to use, we put ourselves in March to the airport of Prat where we arrive at noon, perfect time to leave our car in the parking lot of Aena, check our backpacks and after passing the security checks, approach us to a restaurant where to load forces to start this trip to Shanghai.

Start our trip to Shanghai

After eating and having a couple of coffees, we approached the boarding gate from which our KLM Royal Dutch Airlines flight will depart, the airline we have chosen to travel to Tibet, with which we have already flown on previous occasions and with who, we will not deny, we have a special feeling, not only for the comfort of their aircraft, but also for the quick response (and solution) that we have always had on their part when we had a problem. Something that is appreciated and much, especially when we are talking about something as important on a trip as it is a flight. If we add that they have always treated us in an exceptional way, both by phone and by RRSS when we have contacted them, this time, how could it be otherwise, flying with them was our first option.

KLM: the best trip to Shanghai

In addition this year he has won the award for the most punctual airline in the world, so, as expected, when it is exactly 4:30 p.m. they announce the start of boarding, which we do without hurry but without pause, to stop A few minutes to find ourselves already seated on the flight that will take us to the city where we will connect with the flight to Shanghai and where we have a scale of 3: 55h, more than enough time, but that also gives us the peace of mind of taking this transit calmly and thus not having to run as it has happened in the last trips, in which we have had stops Very short.

This time we traveled on an emergency exit, so we spent a totally relaxed flight, enjoying that extra space, while looking out the window, that little hole to heaven which will once again lead us to a dream destination.
Punctually we land when it is 18: 55h in the afternoon, at which time we have to make a change of door, checking before all the information we have in the KLM mobile application and that it is updated in real time is valid, and which will take us to the next step of trip to Shanghai.

It's 22:30 at night, one hour before takeoff, when we begin to pass the security controls to access the flight with which we will start this trip to Shanghai, where we will arrive in almost 11 hours.
And so, between takeoff, a good reading time, a delicious dinner, as few have tried on the flights we have made, it is time to recline the seat, snuggle under the blanket, close your eyes and start dreaming about traveling to Tibet.
