As an Italian I am, I find it very difficult to write this post. Choose alone 10 typical dishes to eat in Italy It's almost as complicated as choosing between dad or mom. Because something that has to be very clear: the best of Italian gastronomy, beyond the typical dishes and stereotypes, is the regional cuisine. Each area has its specialties, which are usually authentic delicacies, so our main recommendation is to try those typical dishes of the region you are traveling through.

To recommend eating a pasta dish in Italy is almost as generic as saying that in Rome you have to visit its churches, or that in Venice you have to cross its bridges…. Dude, if the Bolognese pasta drives you crazy, you have to try the Bolognese gnocchi. Well, in Italy we call them "gnocchi al ragú" and the ragout It is the sauce that is prepared with stir fried onion, leek, carrot to which is added minced meat, pepper, salt and tomato sauce. Come on, which in Spain is known as Bolognese sauce (because yes, it was invented in Bologna).

I could feed myself exclusively on pizza. Especially if it's about Neapolitan pizza. I am made of water, meat, love and carbohydrates, which I am going to make. Pizza is not just a typical Italian dish, it is a symbol of the country. Why Neapolitan Pizza? Because it was there where it was invented and where the measure is well taken, it is characterized by an elastic and highly hydrated mass and high edges and low center of the base.

The best are those of my grandmother and my mother (in my house we call her pasticcio), but surely in any restaurant with home cooking (do not go to eat a frozen lasagna, copon), they will be able to prepare one of the best lasagna that you will eat in your life.

If you are an alien and do not know what lasagna is, I tell you: it is a dish that is prepared with pasta sheets that alternate with Bolognese sauce (ragout) and sauce bechamel. There are variants: lasagna with spinach and cottage cheese, fish lasagna, eggplant ... it can actually be prepared in a thousand ways!

This is one of the typical dishes of Italy more unknown For foreigners. But it is very common among Italians to go for a drink and ask for a “tagliere” to snack. What can I tell you not to know about ice cream anymore? What I'm going to give you is a recommendation: never buy ready-made ice cream in Italy, always, always, always go to artisan ice cream. We have kicks. In large cities there are very good ice cream parlors, but prices soar (it is not uncommon to have to pay € 2-3 for a ball -_-), while in smaller cities and towns, an ice cream ball costs € 1-1.50 approx.

We end up with one of the most famous italian desserts around the world: tiramisu. It is prepared with savoiardi (some typical cookies) that are dipped in coffee and covered with mascarpone cream (mascarpone cheese, eggs and sugar) and sprinkle with cocoa. Surely you already ate it on more than one occasion. There are several versions of the dessert: from strawberry tiramisu to pistachio tiramisu, but the truth is that grace is in the coffee! So my advice is to try the original.
