LOWCOST MAIN AIRLINES BAGGAGE POLICY

When preparing a trip through Europe, keep in mind that most low-cost airlines have baggage limits, if you want to bill you will have to pay an extra, and if you prefer to save your billing there is always size and weight limits on hand luggage. Be careful because in the end the penalties for not meeting these limits can be more expensive than the ticket itself!

Then we leave you the baggage policies of the main low cost airlines in Europe, at its most basic rates:

Ryanair

- Hand luggage: if you pay priority boarding when making your reservation (€ 5) you can carry a carry-on suitcase of maximum 10 kg, with maximum dimensions of 55 cm x 40 cm x 20 cm, and also another bulge not exceeding the dimensions 35 cm × 20 cm × 20 cm. If you have not paid this extra, you can take the same packages, but the big one will have to deliver it when making the shipment so that it travels in the hold, that is, as if you were billing it, but without additional cost, being able to travel in the cabin with the bulk more Small (do not worry about the laptop that you can take with you).

- Billing: if you want to invoice the price is 25€ for a suitcase of maximum 20 kg (if you add the baggage check-in after booking, the price goes up to € 40). Be careful because this price can reach € 35 in high season (incredible but true). Every extra kg after 20 is paid at € 10 and up to three bags can be billed per person.

→ Easyjet

- Hand luggage:one piece 56 x 45 x 25 cm but no weight limit (often luxury!). But beware, if it exceeds the size you will have to pay the penalty at the airport for more than € 60!

- Billing: each person can check up to three bags in the warehouse. The standard weight of each suitcase is 20 kg and the price depends on the route, if you book online it goes from € 16.90 to € 39. If you wait to book the billing you will get € 47 at check-in or € 60 if you do it at the boarding gate (same as the penalty). If the suitcase weighs more than 20 kg you will be charged € 14 per kg, up to a maximum of 32 kg.

→ Vueling

- Hand luggage: you can take it for free a suitcase up to 10 kg weight and 55 x 40 x 20 cm in size, more a purse or smaller case with dimensions of 35 x 20 x 20 cm.

- Billing: the price for invoicing the first suitcase is 13€ whenever you book it online, going up to € 35 if you do it directly at the airport. The second and third suitcases are priced at € 40 online and € 70 at the airport. The maximum weight is € 23, paying each extra kg at € 12 (almost more expensive than ham!).

→ Transavia

- Hand luggage: can be carriedone piece of maximum 10 kg. If its dimensions are up to 40 x 40 x 25 cm it is ensured that it is carried in the cabin, if the suitcase is larger (not exceeding 55 x 40 x 25 cm) it is not assured that it goes in the cabin and you can be billed ( for free). If it is still bigger, you run the risk of being measured and finally pay a € 40 penalty at the airport.

- Billing: in this case it depends on the weight of your suitcase and the journey, the minimum charge would be 15 kg and depending on the route it would leave between € 9 and € 28 online and € 30 at the airport. The price rises approx € 10 for every 5 kg more weight.

→ Norwegian

- Hand luggage: can be carried over a handbag maximum 55 x 40 x 23 cm and an article Small staff (25 x 33 x 20 cm). The combined weight should not exceed 10 kg.

- Billing: prices for billing a suitcase vary depending on each route, the season, its stopover or not, etc. Here we leave the tables with all these prices.

→ Flybe

- Hand luggage: it can be carried one piece of hand luggage with a maximum size of 55 x 35 x 20 cm and not weighing more than10 kg. If you get caught exceeding the limits, you can be charged £ 50 or more!

- Billing: if you need to check in, the price for a suitcase of up to 15 kg is 19€, if it is up to 20 kg you will pay € 20 and larger because more pasta. Be careful because these rates are if you book online, if you wait to do so at the airport only the 20 kg rate is available and you will pay € 54!

Wizz air

- Hand luggage: you can carry one piece of 55 x 40 x 23 cm hand luggage and 10 kg of maximum.

- Billing: it depends on the route, but for you to get an idea the prices would be these: per bag of up to 20 kg you pay online 21€ (€ 24 after booking the flight) and € 55 at the airport. If the suitcase is up to 32 kg the prices are € 27 online (€ 30 a posteriori) and € 75 at the airport.

Flips

- Hand luggage: you have the right to carry a suitcase Y a small bag by hand, provided they do not exceed 10 kg of joint weight. The size limit of the largest suitcase is 55 x 40 x 20 cm; the small 35 x 20 x 20 cm. If you exceed these measures or the weight of 10 kg you will be charged € 60 at the airport.

- Check in: check in a suitcase up to 20 kg costs 15€ online, at the check-in counter it would be € 40 and before boarding it goes up to € 60. From that weight each extra kg costs € 12 (up to 32 kg), in all three ways. Per person may embark up to 5 bags and not exceed 50 kg.

Iberia Express

- Hand luggage: allowed one piece large with dimensions 56 cm x 45 cm x 25 cm, plus a personal accessory (a small lady's bag or a small wallet, a laptop or a small camera / video camera). The penalty will be € 60.

- Billing: if you have booked an Express ticket (the cheapest one) and want bills, you will have to pay for it. A suitcase of up to 23 kg costs 15€ or 20€ online (depending on the route) and € 30 or € 35 at the airport. If you weigh more than 23 kg, you will be charged € 60 (it is better to hire two bags online).

We have considered some of the Main low cost airlines in Europe, if you fly with one that does not appear in the list, it is enough that you investigate a little on its website, the luggage policy has to be well detailed. * All hand luggage is subject to a size limit, you can get problems when boarding if they measure it and are above these limits. The problem is basically paying a penalty (nothing cheap) to check the bag.
