KOH LIPE: WHAT A DOG LIFE!

Today's post talks about a paradise island in Thailand ideal for backpacking: Koh Lipe! And they call it a dog's life ... that's because they haven't met Koh Lipe's dogs! This canine variety spends the day developing 3 activities:

  1. Lie on the beach (better under the sunbeds of the reddest guiris of the Huelva strawberries)
  2. Bathe in the sea (if the heat is hot and the amount of hair that has a dip is the minimum)
  3. Eat (maneee would be missing more! Fish, chicken or whatever ... something always catch!)

So taking an example of them, we have spent 4 days on this beautiful island practicing what in Italian is subtly explained as “art of the cazzeggio”: nothing of alarm clock, beach, bath, sun, another bath, food, nap (which is known that the sea tires), beach, photos, bath, sun, another bath, dinner, free wifi in rustic cottage, bona nit! And we have left that paradise because we no longer had money, if we had not stayed there a few more days!

Koh Lipe is located in southern Thailand, in the marine park of Tarutao, a few km from Malaysia. Fundamentally it consists of 3 beaches: Pattaya, Sunrise & Sunset Beach. We stay with Pattaya, since at Sunrise there were some evil bugs in the water that stung us (contrasting the info with other travelers it turns out that these bugs only bit us, so surely they don't even exist!). The Sunset beach is perfect for the afternoon: beer and bath under the last rays of the sun: paradise!

Here we find another great character that adds to our list of traveling friends: Super Frankie! Although you are Juventino we love you! With a little sorrow, it is time to say goodbye to the island, Franco and the dogs, Koh Lipe, although it is not “our island” that for this is already KOH RONG, we have loved it.

Transport. How to get to Koh Lipe?

From the beach of Ton Sai in Railay we took the boat to the beach of Ao Nang (100 baths). From there a shared van to the Krabi bus station (60 baths). We were lucky and in half an hour the bus left for Trang (115 baths). In total about 6 hours. After spending the night there and buying agency prices, we took a combined transport to the port of Pakbara + speed boat to Koh Lipe for 600 Baths. The minivan takes 1.5 h. and the boat another 1.5 h.

Accommodation. Where to sleep in Koh Lipe?

In Trang on the Ko Teng Backpakers, for 180 baths the single for shared use. In Koh Lipe at the Serene Resort, in a mini bungalow with bathroom and wifi for 500 baths per night.

Hopefully our Koh Lipe guide for backpackers you liked it 🙂
