On a weekend you can visit the city perfectly, especially its old town with the beautiful Market Square and the Jewish quarter. Although if you have more days in Krakow it is advisable to make some excursions to places that are nearby, such as the extraordinary Wieliczka Salt Mines, the moving Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp or the town of Zakopane.
All these places can be visited by bus from Krakow station, they are very popular sites and there is a good frequency of buses, throughout the day, although another good option is to book guided tours in Spanish to learn more about the history and curiosities of these places.
After our visit to the city, we have prepared a list of what we believe are the 5 best tours and excursions in Krakow in Spanish, based on our trip to Krakow in 5 days.

1. Auschwitz-Birkenau Concentration Camp

The visit to the Auschwitz concentration and extermination camp from Krakow is one of the most essential excursions and emotional that you can do in your life. This complex located about 68 kilometers from Krakow, was the largest Nazi extermination center with more than one million (90% Jews) of people killed because of race, religion, politics or prisoners of war, during their almost 5 years of functioning.
In 1979, the Auschwitz-Birkenau museum, declared a World Heritage Site in 1979, was created in two of the concentration camps of the Auschwitz I and Auschwitz-Birkenau complex.
During the tour of the two fields of the museum, in addition to remembering the history and the atrocities that happened there, you enter places that shudder like crematoriums, gas chambers or barracks where prisoners were stacked.
To get to the field you can do it on your own by bus from the Krakow bus station, on a journey that lasts an hour and a half and has several stops. The visit to the field is free before 10 in the morning and after 4 in the afternoon, but between these two hours it is mandatory to visit it on a guided tour.
The number of visitors is limited, so it is advisable to book the guided tour with time as they sell out very quickly. The tour of the two courses can take you around 3 hours and there are free buses to transfer between them.
On this occasion we chose to book an excursion in Spanish with an agency with very good reference and good guides, to learn more about the history and which also includes bus transportation.
