One of the surprises that you will take in your trip to the North Cape is to discover that in the port of the town of Honningsvag there's a Ice bar run by a couple of Spanish entrepreneurs.

Honningsvag It is the last important population you find before reaching the northernmost point of Europe, and over a hundred cruise ships arrive in summer with thousands of tourists eager to visit the North Cape.

Palentino José, owner of the North Cape Ice Bar in Norway

Palentino José and Madrid's Isabel have been running these establishments for ten seasons. Expert in excursions through the frozen lands of Scandinavia, the main characteristic of Ice bar Jose's is that they renew the ice every year.

Thus, between March and April, for several weeks they invest in the extraction of ice located on a lake next to a road, which they cut at 25 degrees below zero, and transfer it to Honningsvag to mount the Ice Bar. In total they are between 50 and 60 tons of ice that are distributed in the 144 square meters of the bar.
