The church of San Salvador de Valdediós, popularly known as the Conventín, is one of the best examples of pre-Romanesque architecture in Asturias, which in itself justifies a getaway to this area of that community.
This small church was finished building in 893 by order of rhey Alfonso III "The Great", and would soon be part of a palatine complex, the king's own place of retreat, and of which there is no remainder.
But the church since 1218 became accompanied by what is now the Valdediós monastery, after the donation of Puelles Valley to Order of the Cister by the King Alfonso IX of Leon.
