Before my recent trip, I had traveled to the Norway Fjords, and the truth is that there were few but very defined images he remembered of them.

But one of the most prominent images, along with that of the wooden church of VikIt was one of the spectacular panoramic views of Alesund From a lookout.

Luckily, on this return to the fjord region I have had the opportunity to enjoy these panoramic views that, from my point of view, become one of the best attractions of a trip to the Norway Fjords.

But also, Alesund is the gateway to Geiranger Fjord, one of the most beautiful in Norway, which is highlighted by its incorporation into the list of Patrimonies of Humanity of the Unesco.

The location of Alesund surrounded by mountainous islands and at the entrance of the aforementioned fjord, it fosters one of the most spectacular images that we will take in our memory after the trip ... and I say it from experience.

How to climb the viewpoint of Mount Aksla

In addition, next to the historic center surrounding the port rises the small hill of Aksla where the famous viewpoint is located, known as Fjellstua.

For go up to the viewpoint, you can do it in the rented car with which you may travel, or you can also get on a bus line from the city.

But you also have the option to do it on foot from the center of the city, by means of a staircase that has recently been renovated.

I warn you, there are 418 steps that start from the city park, at the foot of the mentioned hill of Aksla.

In this stairway that winding up the hillside you will find several viewing platforms from where you will have different perspectives of Alesund.

In the end, the prize will be reached lookout of Fjellstua from where do you have some wonderful views of Alesund and of the landscapes that surround this coastal area of Geiranger fjord.

If your physical form does not make it advisable to walk up to the viewpoint, you always have the option of getting on a bus line.
